VISUAL CONCEPTS I

WEEK EIGHT

MID TERM REVIEW

The mid-term review is a check point for us to examine what has been accomplished over the last seven weeks. I like to meet with each student for a short consultation to discuss strengths and weaknesses.

I will tender an informal grade from these reviews to alert you to your standing in the course thus far. More importantly, this puts you in a position where you must present work in a formal and finished digital package.

Each student needs the following for the review:
Scanned or photographed records of the works done on paper. These can be brought into Photoshop and saved as 150 dpi, grayscale tiff. "Grayscale" because none of the work with natural media was to be in color. And a "tiff" is a format photoshop makes available when you save.

These should all be put into folders along with any digital work like the digital mark-making, the value drawings, dimensional shapes, or color exercises. Once you have pulled all of your work together the files should be burned to a CD enclosed in a slimline disc case with an insert. The insert should contain the following information:

Treat everything in this package as though it is part of the presentation. Please avoid it looking like it was assebled by someone in the ranks of the criminally insane... or a college student in a big hurry! Presentation and order go a long way.
