WEEK FIFTEEN

Poster of Visually Enhanced Quotation as color print

DUE NEXT WEEK on Monday, December 13th.
Final project in digital form and printed form

Purpose The basic premise of this final is to employ what we have learned throughout the course. As always, be sensitive to form and counterform, use of color, type, composition, type hierarchy, scale, use of texture and contrasts.

Assignment To demonstrate how a simple quotation, song, or poem can be typographically enhanced. Through considered arrangement of a single font or the juxtaposition of different fonts, quotations can be enhanced typographically to extend their meaning. Select a favorite quotation from a song, book, movie, or poem and find a way to express the sentiment typographically as a poster.
You must incorporate a photograph(s) (300 dpi, CMYK) or an illustration(s) to communicate with type and images.
Donšt forget to convert type into outlines AFTER SPELLCHECKING. Donšt forget to also take the photoshop file to your service bureau of choice if you place an mage inside of Illustrator.

Remember, in arranging for output: Call them NOW!!!! Get prices. Get turnaround times /deadlines.

Look at samples. Inquire about the use of different kinds of paper or fabric if your design lends itself to this inquiry.

PREPARE FINAL DISC AND BINDER

DISC I would like the final disc to be a comprehensive overview of the fall semester in Visual Concepts I. The best way to do this is to assememble all the past assignments into digital files. I would like all the files to be labeled with it's assignment name or number.



The files should be burned to a CD enclosed in a slimline disc case with an insert. The insert should contain the following information:

BINDER In addition to the final disc, you are also required to prepare a final binder. This should be a standard three ring binder with samples of all of your work printed out and placed in plastic slipsheets so as to document the work produced in and out of class. The work should be ordered in a week to week basis so that it flow chronologically.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you have created a file in Illustrator that contains type, you should convert all the type to outlines. Otherwise, when the work is viewed on another computer, the font may not be viewed correctly. Also, try to save all photoshop files as a TIFF format. Save the image at a 150 or 300 dpi.
